Summer Program

Our 8 session Summer Program is perfect for any angler looking to gain valuable experience on the water and learn specific skills.

If you are new to fishing this is the place for you to start. During these 8, three-hour sessions we will develop your foundational angling skills which we can then build on as you progress and grow in our club.

If you are a seasoned tournament angler these sessions can be used to fine tune certain skills and techniques that you want to learn.

This is also the place to start if you see yourself competing in highschool tournaments for our club. The travel team spots are limited and building your skills through this program is a must.

These sessions are not just for one level of angler. We understand some are just starting and some might be tournament champions. NWAI will meet students where they are and develop from that point. The key to becoming great is to never stop learning and staying humble enough to know that!

The goal is to develop junior anglers using our fishing experience from Adrian College and semi pro events through on the water sessions. Through these sessions we aim to help anglers reach their potential and put themselves in the best position to attain one of the few college fishing scholarships and be successful wherever they continue to fish.

So whether you’re looking for a summer activity, an introduction to the sport, or want to take your skills to the next level, these sessions will fit your needs.

Why on-the-water?

The on-the-water benefit

In today’s generation of savvy learners and the gold mine of information available on the internet,  the ability to teach yourself about anything has become the norm. The learning curve for fishing has been reduced so much by online sources, videos, and social media one might think they know it all before they even hit the water. While I am all for these information outlets and what they provide, there is still nothing that compares to on-the-water experience and the knowledge and confidence it can build.

Taking a technique from Youtube to the water may seem easy, but indeed, learning to fish with your gut and knowing how to break down lake conditions and then decide on a technique is much more valuable and obtainable only through time on the water. There are no amount of videos, lessons, webinars, or articles that can provide the learning experience of first hand on the water interaction and instruction. Through my years of learning and fishing I can assure you this is true. While I do not underestimate the ability to learn from online sources it will never compare to time on the water and being an actual practitioner of the sport.
